Self Help Leaders

support for self-help / support group leaders

I have just spent the weekend changing the focus one of my social networks, renaming and rebranding it.

Here's a bit more about it:

The HSingles social network experienced amazing growth and development in its first year of operation utilising the Ning platform (originally HSingles utilised a Yahoo forum service).

The community evolved into one of the most interactive and supportive environments I have ever seen in all my years participating in, running and developing herpes sites and communities.

With the unique nature of the site and the often noted fact that it was not 'just a dating' site the idea to change the name and the focus of the site was mooted and discussed at length (both online and off), and the decision was made to rename and rebrand the site.

On the 8 January 2009 - 5 years 3 months after the Yahoo forum was originally created and 18 months after the Ning social network was created - HSingles became the Living Sphere Community.

The main focus of the site is now support and socialising - which is not a change at all really, but simply how the site has evolved naturally.

Renaming the site was a natural progression. Since the focus has been support for some time now and since Living Sphere already has an international reputation and is recommended by medical professionals, renaming the social network and linking it to the Living Sphere 'brand' can only be beneficial for all.

Singles are still catered for within the community. HSingles is now a sub-group of the site - so singles seeking to date within the herpes community may join this sub-group and then once they become involved they will no longer feel the need to leave the site - they can simply leave the HSingles group and continue to interact with their friends throughout the rest of the site.

The Living Sphere Community now has its own URL, no longer a ning.com but with its own web address http://www.livingspherecommunity.com/

This is yet another exciting development for us, and we will enjoy watching how the site now evolves.
