About this network

This site evolved directly from a leadership workshop on developing and utilising leadership skills for self-help group members and leaders. The workshop was presented by Self Help QLD and faciltated by Liz Mellish. This network was created to share the ideas from that workshop and to provide a networking resource for the participants.

Self-help leaders and group members who did not attend the workshop are also invited to join and participate if they wish. Help us build this site into a fabulous resource for all and a great directory of all the amazing self-help / support groups out there!

Make your profile page a personal page or use it to promote your group/s.

Here's a bit more about it:

The HSingles social network experienced amazing growth and development in its first year of operation utilising the Ning platform (originally HSingles utilised a Yahoo forum service).

The community evolved into one of the most interactive and supportive environments I have ever seen in all my years participating in, running and developing herpes sites and communi… Continue

Talking about your 'cause'

Today there are so many opportunities out there to promote your cause, your service, your support group... my advice is seek them out and make the most of them.

The net is undoubtedly an amazing tool to spread your message and make people aware of what you have to offer, whether it be a support group, a service, or your experience. I hope this site can help all members to spread their message and provide opportunities to utilise the tools available here, and to learn about other online tools wh… Continue

The Support Group Guidebook

This is an eBook I wrote a couple of years ago to encourage people to create more support groups.

I would like to update it and include more info about using the latest tools (like Ning) to create online support groups.

Please feel free to download it and share any feedback you… Continue
